先用小鐵釘固定蟾蜍的四條腿於木板上,或用左手執活蟾蜍,將蟾蜍的頭部朝下,右手用竹製夾鉗或牛角刀片(忌用鐵器,以免蟾酥與鐵作用後變青黑色,影響質量),用力擠壓耳後腺,在背上及後腿隆起的疣皰(即膚腺)處chu,剖pou開kai表biao皮pi並bing挑tiao開kai疣you粒li輕qing輕qing擠ji壓ya,將jiang擠ji壓ya出chu的de白bai色se漿jiang液ye盛sheng進jin瓦wa罐guan或huo玻bo璃li器qi皿min中zhong,也ye可ke刮gua到dao瓷ci盆pen或huo小xiao碗wan中zhong,過guo籮luo篩shai濾lv掉diao雜za質zhi,自zi篩shai背bei麵mian刮gua下xia純chun漿jiang,薄bo薄bo地di鋪pu入ru圓yuan瓷ci盆pen中zhong曬shai幹gan或huo陰yin幹gan,即ji為wei團tuan酥su。也ye可ke將jiang擠ji壓ya出chu來lai的de漿jiang液ye收shou集ji後hou用yong適shi量liang麵mian粉fen拌ban和he,曬shai到dao七qi成cheng幹gan時shi做zuo成cheng圓yuan餅bing,中zhong間jian穿chuan孔kong懸xuan掛gua於yu通tong風feng處chu,吹chui幹gan後hou即ji為wei成cheng品pin。
蟾酥的新鮮漿液,以白淨、漿粒微黃、油麵發光、粘性大、拉力強者為佳品。圓餅狀的團酥,以質堅、不易折斷、斷麵棕褐色、角質狀、weiyouguangzeweizhiliangshangcheng。tuzaibolibanshangshaigandechansuweiyuanpanzhuangbopian,ganzaozhicui,yisui,guanghuamingliangrujiao,duanmianhongzongsehuohuangzongse,yichunjingwuzazhizheweijiapin。
刮完蟾酥後不要立即將蟾蜍放入水中,應放在蔭蔽和幹燥的地方,以免其感染發炎而死亡。蟾蜍經刮漿,須過14天後才能第二次刮漿。
蟾酥有毒,采集加工蟾酥時必須小心,防止濺入眼中。一旦濺入眼中出現眼腫,可用紫萆汁衝洗患部,即可消腫。
