1. I need to go somewhere.
聽到這句話可千萬別回答成：You can go anywhere you like.那可是要鬧大笑話了。I need to go somewhere. 的意思就是“我要上廁所”。當有老外這麼說的時候，指示給他衛生間在哪裏就行了。
2. I want to wash my hands.
你在同女生吃飯的時候有沒有注意過她們說“我去洗下手”？這句話隱含的意思也是“我要上廁所”。在英語中這句話就是“I want to wash my hands.”女生說得更客氣的一句話是“I need to powder my nose.”，是很含蓄的說法。 而“I want/need to go (or use) to the bathroom/restroom. ”則是比較普通的委婉了，程度沒有上麵兩個高。
3. I need to answer the call of nature.
一種更為文雅的說法稱內急為“the call of nature”，那麼上廁所就成了“to answer the call of nature.”。有時個別年紀大的女士在這種情況下還會說“I need to make a pit stop.”其實“pit stop”是指在賽車過程中，賽車在途中緊急停留加油、維修的地方。看來，她們肯定將解決問題看作是一種“緊急維修”了。
4. I need to go pee.
說過了委婉的說法，一些俚語和口語中很直接的說法我們也要了解一下，這些說法經常出現在一些電視劇和電影中，比如“I need to go pee.”或“I need to take a leak (小便)。”或“I need to take a dump/----.”但這些講法是非常粗魯的，通常在小孩子或者受教育程度不高的人中間使用比較普遍。
