油菜三大類型之一。學名Brassia campestris L.。包括原產中國的芸薹和油白菜。中國又稱小白菜、矮油菜、甜油菜等。染色體組為aa,n=10。
白(bai)菜(cai)型(xing)油(you)菜(cai)株(zhu)體(ti)較(jiao)矮(ai)小(xiao)。一(yi)般(ban)春(chun)性(xing)品(pin)種(zhong)幼(you)苗(miao)直(zhi)立(li),冬(dong)性(xing)品(pin)種(zhong)株(zhu)型(xing)匍(pu)匐(fu),半(ban)冬(dong)性(xing)品(pin)種(zhong)介(jie)於(yu)二(er)者(zhe)之(zhi)間(jian)。主(zhu)根(gen)較(jiao)發(fa)達(da)或(huo)不(bu)發(fa)達(da),支(zhi)細(xi)根(gen)發(fa)育(yu)中(zhong)等(deng)或(huo)發(fa)達(da)。原(yuan)產(chan)中(zhong)國(guo)西(xi)北(bei)部(bu)的(de)北(bei)方(fang)小(xiao)油(you)菜(cai)B.campestris L.基葉有明顯葉柄,具琴狀缺刻;南方油白菜B.campestris var.chinensis Mak.,即B.chinensis L.jiyeyebingbumingxian,wuqinzhuangquekehuobumingxian。beifangxiaoyoucaifenzhixingruo,fenzhishushao。nanfangyoubaicaifenzhixingjiaoqiang,fenzhibuweidi,youdecongdimianjiufenzhi,chengcongshengxing。jingzuzhisongruan,muzhihuachengdujiaodi,yidaofu,kangbingchongxingjiaoruo。huasedanhuangzhishenhuang,huabantuoyuan,huaxuzhongjianhualeizheshengweizhidiyukaifanghuaduo。kaihuashixiongruihuayaoyibanxiangwaikailie,zijiaobuqinhexingqiang,yijiaojieshilvgao,yiban80-90%。中國青藏高原的地方品種千粒重最大可達6-7g。種皮暗褐、紅褐或黃色,無辛辣味。種子含油率一般為30-40%,產自中國青藏高原的最高達50%以上。
